There is a fine line between stepping on the scale too often and not often enough! There is no right or wrong here. It is different for all of us. If the number on the scale plays with your head like it does mine but you’re wanting to lose some weight, you should at least check monthly. Anymore than that and the normal fluctuation that happens from day to day can really take it’s toll on you mentally.
For me personally, if I don’t see the scale move like I want it to I will just say “screw it” and eat whatever I want for a few days. After that I will feel discouraged, bloated and just plain yucky. I will have regretted my decision and feel like I have taken two steps back……let’s be honest, more like 7 or 8. If I don’t weigh myself for weeks at a time it’s typically because I don’t want to see the number. I know that the number will not be good enough for me….because of my recent food habits. When really what I need most is to get on the scale and really see where I am at. This cycle feels never ending. There have been times where I have been really happy with my number and there have been times where I have been embarrassed by that number. Seriously, why would I be embarrassed – no one sees that number but me. Embarrassed because I know that that number is not the right number for me. That the number on the scale – whether we like it or not – IS important. It is an important measure of our health and well being. I really feel WE decide our healthy weight. The weight where we feel great about ourselves and are comfortable in our clothes. The number where we feel confident and healthy…..and that number is different for everybody and every body.
We DO need to weigh ourselves. How you feel in your clothes, weekly photos and measurements are great ways to see your progress or regression but too we need to see that number occasionally. It is another self check that we need to keep us on the right path to our ultimate goal.

The 21 Day Fix is such a popular program! I had incredible results with the 21 Day Fix. I lost 11 lbs and 10 inches in my first round of the 21 Day Fix and have utilized the eating system since then. My husband had great results as well, he lost 10 lbs.
While you can do many rounds of the 21 Day Fix, the body does need change. Enter: The 21 Day Fix Extreme. This program is great for people who have hit a plateau with the 21 Day Fix, are “sick” of the 21 Day Fix workouts or for people who already have a good fitness base. The 21 Day Fix Extreme uses the same 21 Day Fix containers from the original 21 Day Fix. The system is essentially the same with a few modifications. There is also the option to use the Countdown to Competition plan the Autumn Calabrese uses when she’s prepping for a bikini competition. Even if you’re not wanting to prep for stage, you can still utilize this plan to lower your body fat percentage and get super lean.
I chose to use the Countdown to Competition plan and got some great results! While the program is a commitment with eating 7-8 meals a day, I actually really enjoyed it! That said, the Countdown to Competition is not for everyone and is not a required part of the program.
If you’re considering either the 21 Day Fix or the 21 Day Fix Extreme shoot me a message and let’s chat about your goals and see if either of these programs are a good fit for you. Add me on Facebook and ask about joining our FREE Accountability group!
